Angela McCleary

   Angela is our Principal Psychologist. She studied psychology at Swinburne and Monash Universities. She has a wide array of clinical and professional experience, including acute mental health, child and adolescent psychology, children and young people in 'out of home care', private psychology, as well as assessment and treatment under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Angela is trained in a range of interventions including, but not limited to; Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Based Treatment (FBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Additionally, she is trained in the administration, interpretation, and reporting on a range of psychometric tests. As well as being able to provide diagnostic assessment, second-opinions, differentials, and reports.

Michael Kerr

Michael is a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Psychologist who is passionate about building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting individuals through life’s challenges. His interest in human connection and working collaboratively with people is what inspired him to pursue a career in psychology. He firmly believes that everyone deserves access to mental health care and the support needed to navigate difficult periods in their lives.

Michael works with a diverse range of clients, including children, and is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and empathetic therapeutic environment. He places great importance on developing trust and fostering a collaborative relationship with each client to support meaningful change and personal growth.

 Michael has developed a particular interest in male mental health and wellbeing. He is passionate about supporting men and boys to engage with their mental health and continues to expand his skills and knowledge in this area.

Through his training and completion of a Master of Clinical Counselling, Michael has developed a strong foundation in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Client Centred Therapy (CCT). He takes an individualised approach to therapy, tailoring interventions to suit each client’s unique needs and goals.

Mercedes Verso

BA(Psych), GradDipPsychAdv, MProfPsych

Mercedes is a Provisional Psychologist who has completed a Master of Professional Psychology at La Trobe University. She is passionate about creating a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Mercedes has experience working with adolescents and adults across a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image difficulties, and managing everyday stress. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing interpersonal challenges and is committed to working alongside clients to help build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.

Mercedes draws on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and tailors her therapeutic style to suit each individual’s unique goals and needs. She values a warm, client-centred approach and is dedicated to fostering a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship.

Brooke Seccull 

BSocCommStud, MSW (Prof. Qual.)

Brooke is a dedicated and experienced Social Worker with a substantial background in mental health, therapeutic family work, domestic violence support, and child protection. Holding a Bachelor of Social and Community Studies from the University of Canberra and a Master of Social Work from Charles Sturt University, Brooke has developed a comprehensive skill set across both government and non-government sectors. As a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Brooke has excelled in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing psychoeducation. Brooke supports clients through evidence-based practices and compassionate care. She is extensively trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Resource Therapy, Interplay Family Therapy, Family-Based Therapy for Eating Disorders, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Brooke is committed to promoting mental health and well-being in her community.

Todd Scott 

RPN(Div3), RN(Div1), DipHE(MHN), CPL(A)

Todd is our psychotherapist and counselor. He is also a registered psychiatric nurse, having completed his training at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. With over two decades of clinical experience in acute mental health across various locations and roles, Todd brings extensive expertise to his practice. Additionally, he is an active airline pilot and plays a key role in designing and administering our Fear of Flying course. Todd is skilled in multiple therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Ella Harvey

 

Ella, our dedicated Therapy Assistant is currently in her third year of studying for a Batchelor of Occupational Therapy at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne. She brings a wealth of skills and experience to Therapy Toolbox, having served as a teacher's aide in regional NSW, a community coach with Netball Victoria, and previously a netball coach for both senior and junior girls at Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School. Her extensive  background in supporting and mentoring children makes her an invaluable asset to our team.

Phoebe Jefferies

Phoebe is a Therapy Assistant currently studying an Allied Health Assistant course, with a passion for working with children and supporting families. With a background in childcare and a natural ability to connect with young people, Phoebe brings energy, enthusiasm, and a playful approach to her work.

She enjoys creating fun, engaging environments where children feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to learn and grow. As part of her role, Phoebe works closely alongside therapists to help children build skills, confidence, and independence in a way that feels safe and enjoyable.

Therapy Assistants also play an important role in supporting families by helping to bridge the gap between therapy sessions. By assisting with therapy tasks and skill development, they can help take some of the pressure off parents and carers, making it easier to integrate strategies into daily routines at home.

Phoebe is passionate about making therapy fun, meaningful, and family-friendly, and loves being part of a team that supports children to thrive.

Nikki is our superstar administration officer and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team, with over 20 years working in administration and client support roles. She has a strong background in medical reception, having worked in both General Practice  specialist cardiology settings, and also has valuable experience working within a paediatric clinic environment. Nikki is a warm, friendly, and approachable presence at our clinic, helping to create a welcoming space for all families and clients. Her genuine care for people, combined with her professionalism and attention to detail, make her an invaluable part of our team.
